I’m Charity De Souza, a travel writer, editor, and content strategist with 11+ years of experience creating stories that rank, convert, and feel like they were written by someone who’s actually been there.
My work has appeared in Travel + Leisure, The New York Times, Southern Living, and Yahoo! News, and I’ve created content for brands including KAYAK, Carnival Cruise Line, HotelsCombined, and SUCCESS.
As Managing Editor of Beach.com and Yacht.com, I lead content strategy, manage distributed editorial teams, and build scalable systems that grow organic traffic without sacrificing voice.
My Background
Before travel writing, I spent years teaching psychology at the university level, which turned out to be excellent training for understanding what makes people want to go somewhere, and how to hold their attention once they arrive.
A Florida native, I have traveled to more than 60 countries and lived on four continents — first full-time out of a carry-on, then remotely, now as a family of four. Along the way, I’ve skydived over the Swiss Alps, driven Iceland’s Ring Road, and watched the sun set over the Sahara.
Now
These days, I’m based in Porto, Portugal, with my husband and two young sons. I still travel often — just with more snacks and a greater appreciation for a hotel with a pool.
